An uncommon, yet uniquely engaging combination of entertainment and eats has freshly emerged in the community.

Several months ago, BobaCatch began to advertise the news of their upcoming opening to much anticipation from the locals of Rio Rancho, where the boba shop and claw machine arcade officially opened for business in late January 2026.

The day of their grand opening, lines were wrapped around the building, families, adults, and children alike, spilling out the front doors, each eager for their own chance at a prize, a bowl of ramen, and a cup of the arcade’s signature, directly sourced, Taiwanese bubble tea. With an energy as palpable as electricity in the air, the crowds made their way inside as quickly as the fire marshal’s occupancy limit would allow.

Starting as a small family dream, BobaCatch has quickly blossomed into the first destination of its kind in the area for those seeking the thrill of a plushie dropping into the prize chute or a bubble tea that’s sure to cause a sugar rush. “I think overall, our mission is to create a place where families, kids, everybody in Rio Rancho has a place to hang out,” assistant manager Alexis Ngo said, solidifying the idea that there’s no such thing as an age limit on fun.

Their drink menu features more than just milk tea as well, with offerings such as smoothies, fruit and herbal teas, espresso beverages, and shaved ice. Toppings like popping boba, jelly, and classic brown sugar tapioca pearls are just a few of their irresistible options to liven up your drink. A Korean gas station inspired self-serve ramen bar also makes up part of the charm for this unique arcade eatery, as well as another original concept: croffles. The croissant-waffles are buttery, flaky, and positively delicious.

Decor heavily influenced by Japanese and Korean culture, the arcade is characterized by anime and manga imagery, as well as bright neon lighting reminiscent of contemporary Tokyo nightlife. Their private party rooms and token packages also make BobaCatch an ideal place for birthday gatherings and team building experiences.

After noticing a lack of entertainment in Rio Rancho, BobaCatch has brought a burst of life to the community within just a few weeks since its grand opening.

Support their business and visit today at 1630 Rio Rancho Blvd, Unit C. Look for the big neon sign.
