What do crepes, cars, and community create when brought together? One unforgettable—and undeniably sweet—celebration! From the moment the ribbon was cut at 11 AM, Crepe Brulee’s San Mateo location was filled with loyal fans, first-time visitors, and an eager crowd ready to file into line and get their hands on their favorite crepe.

Featuring handmade Japanese-style crepe cones—ranging from Banana Biscoff to Salted Caramel Crunch—attendees enjoyed a one-of-a-kind dessert experience found nowhere else in the Duke City. After patiently waiting in line with friends beneath the Sunday sun, attendee Bryonna Torres finally got her crepe—and declared it well worth the wait, rating it and the event a 10 out of 10.

“I got vanilla with caramel drizzle and whipped cream,” Torres said with a smile as she displayed her treat. “It’s very unique and different from other desserts I’ve had.”

While many guests enjoyed each other’s company while enjoying their treats, Crepe Brulee offered more than just a beautiful atmosphere for their patrons. A vibrant car show was on full display in the parking lot as car lovers from all around Albuquerque featured their customized rides. On top of the display, exclusive giveaways were also delivered to patrons and contestants throughout the day.

One car contest participant, Cameron Ridenour, discovered the event online and quickly rallied his friends and fellow car enthusiasts to join him in proudly showcasing their vehicles.

“We just wanted to come out and support a business,” Ridenour said. After customizing his own vehicle, he shared that he and his friends enjoy displaying their rides—and that when small businesses support car enthusiasts like himself, it makes a meaningful impact on the car community.

“If more businesses supported us, the car community would show up to all the events,” Ridenour said. “We love that stuff—just going, sitting around, hanging out, getting to know each other, and having fun.” With a grin, he joined his friends as they headed inside to support the business that had supported their community, adding that he was excited to finally taste the menu.

With lines out the door and flavors selling out fast, Crepe Brulee’s message was clear: this celebration wasn’t just about turning one—it was about the people who made that first year possible.

The Owner, Ahmad Maadi, stood proudly with his staff hustling back and forth between customers with an inviting smile. Watching his happy customers dig into their favorite treats, Maadi said the event was going amazingly.

“I love it so much,” he said. “I love the people of Albuquerque; everyone is super supportive, everyone is helping local businesses, and I love the food environment in all of Albuquerque. I feel like these days becoming a foodie is not just a trendy thing to do, but it’s almost like the thing to do in Albuquerque!”
