Online Learning Resources for Kids

We’ve compiled a list of online learning resources you can use to keep up with your kids education

Amidst the COVI-19 stay at home order most of the world has transitioned online, including education. Many people are adjusting to the work-from-home life, but parents are also learning how to be teachers. 

Schools have shut down, but education and learning still continues. For those at home with their young kids, don’t fret. We’ve put together a list of six online, educational resources that are both fun and engaging. 

 

Amplify.

This totally free website has reading, writing, and science lessons for kids ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade. They have game-based adventures and self-guided video lessons. 

Duolingo

This app has 23 languages you can pick from: Spanish, French, Arabic, Japanese, just to name a few. You earn points for correct answers as you race against the clock to level up. The lessons are short and sweet, making it the perfect app to keep your kids’ attention.

Endeavor STEM @Home

Do your kids love all things NASA? Lucky for you NASA has created a free website that includes virtual field trips, coding, and engineering design lessons. They also have a list of resources for PK-5 and 6-12 grades. 

Flocabulary

This website integrates music and learning, your kids won’t even realize they’re doing homework! The free trial unlocks hundreds of videos that are paired with vocab cards, reading responses, and quizzes. 

Izzit

Izzit offers educational videos with discussions after for grades K-12. They have videos covering everything from math and economics, to music and art. They also have videos on “teachable moments,” such as the Brown v. Board of Education case.

Legends of Learning

If you have a hard time keeping your kid engaged with topics use Legends of Learning. This adventure-based learning site disguises education as a game. They have an option for your kid to go on their own adventure, or you can become the teacher and create a lesson plan for them to follow. 

Becoming a homeschool teacher is no easy task, but with these resources you can engage your kid and have a little fun along the way.
