Comedy has a new home, and it’s Albuquerque, New Mexico! The newly renovated Historic Lobo Theater has been hosting local talent Zach Abeyta, a stand-up comedian and Bboy from Albuquerque, New Mexico, on the last Sunday of the month as he brings a host of guest star comedians with every show!

Boasting a comedy style just as expressive as his dance moves, Abeyta has taken to the stage with gusto, entertaining guests of all ages with various materials sure to make even the angriest scrooge break into a smile. In his last performance, August 28th, Abeyta introduced his latest batch of co-comedians, Jake Otero, Virginia Gonzales, and Scotty Goff, to the Albuquerque crowd.
The crowd was left grinning from ear to ear after each performance as comedians told tales ranging from their love life to riffing off crowd members in an impressive interactive performance that entertained the crowd and those who found themselves unwittingly part of the performance as well.
“I thought it was very hilarious! I felt like I was in intervention because he (Scott Goff) was pointing out everybody’s flaws, and it was really funny,” said Marla Montoya, a member of the audience who found herself pulled into Scotty Goff’s impressive act. “I’ve never seen these comedians, but I loved them all and their different ethnicities. The one at the end (Scotty Goff) was really funny!”
For the comedians involved, the show was a rounding success as they were able to bring their unique perspective on comedy and entertainment to the stage. Hailing from different backgrounds many of the comedians were able to bring a taste of their home states to Albuquerque with their acts. The variety of the acts really made the show amazing as it starred newer comedians such as Jake Otero ranging to Scotty Goff who as a 20 year comedy veteran has performed in comedy clubs around the country. For many such as Goff it was an honor to stand by up and coming comedians as they began to lay the foundation for their budding careers.

“It’s always fun to be in a historic part of Albuquerque,” said comedian Scotty Goff. “I hadn’t been here since I was in High School, and that was a long time ago! It was great to be on the stage. This is a smart, hip city; Albuquerque crowds want to laugh because they know how to handle comedy! That has always been the case here. Zach is one of the people to keep an eye on in the up-and-coming comedy scene not just in the southwest, but I think, nationwide.”
For Abeyta taking on the world of comedy nationwide may not be too far away. Until then, he will continue to share his brand of humor with fellow comedians and Albuquerque at the Historic Lobo Theater.
