Saturday, May 18, 2024, Balloon Fiesta Park was transformed into a country music haven as Activated Events hosted the much-anticipated Boots In The Park music festival for the first time ever, here in Albuquerque.

From the moment the gates opened, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, promising an unforgettable evening of live music, delicious food, and festive dancing under the enchanting desert sky.

Headlining the event was none other than country superstar Thomas Rhett, whose energetic performance had the crowd singing along to every hit. Joining him on stage were chart-toppers Chris Young and Chris Janson, each delivering powerhouse sets that kept the audience on their feet. Rising stars Kameron Marlowe, Dylan Schneider, and Leaving Austin added their own flair to the mix, showcasing the next generation of country talent. Throughout the night, DJ Luwiss Lux kept the energy high with his seamless beats, ensuring there wasn’t a dull moment.

Boots In The Park 2024 was a record-breaking event in terms of attendance, with Balloon Fiesta Park packed to the brim with country music fans from all over the region. The excitement was palpable as thousands of attendees filled every inch of the venue, eager to partake in the festivities. The sheer number of people created an electric atmosphere, pulsing with waves of cheers and applause echoing across the park.

This festival was more than just a concert; it was a full-fledged country celebration. Attendees indulged in a variety of craft foods that offered something for every palate, from classic BBQ to innovative fusion dishes. The drink stations served up the tastiest cocktails, perfectly complementing the evening’s festivities. While sometimes VIP can be underwhelming that wasn’t the case for Boots in the Park. VIP ticket holders were given branded camp chairs, water bottles, access to a VIP tent and short lines for drinks as well as fully air-conditioned restrooms. All around, the festival offered a top-notch experience for festival goers.

No country event is complete without some good ol’ two-steppin. Despite the large crowd, Balloon Fiesta Park’s expansive grounds provided ample space for both seasoned dancers and beginners looking to learn a step or two. The lively crowd kicked up dust as they two-stepped to the rhythm of the music, creating a vibrant and welcoming community vibe.

The festival was not only a feast for the ears but also a spectacle of country fashion. Attendees donned their best Western wear, creating a vibrant tapestry of style that added to the event’s charm. Cowboy boots and hats were a common sight, paired with everything from classic denim and plaid shirts to more eclectic outfits featuring fringe, floral patterns, and sparkling accessories. Many festival-goers showcased personalized touches, such as custom belt buckles and dazzling southwestern handmade jewelry, making the event a true celebration of country culture and individual expression against the desert scenery of the Land of Enchantment.

Boots In The Park has a rich history of hosting country music’s biggest names, with past performers including Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Cody Johnson, and Jon Pardi. This year’s lineup lived up to the high expectations, delivering performances that will be talked about for years to come.

The festival was a monumental success and something different than Albuquerque has ever seen. From the star-studded performances to the communal spirit of line dancing and the delectable food and drinks, every element combined to create a magical evening. The smiles, laughter, and joyful cheers of the packed crowd were a testament to what a fun time the festival brought to the Duke City.

For those who dusted off their cowboy boots, polished up their belt buckles, and hit the park as encouraged by the producers of the event, the night was a perfect blend of music, dance, and camaraderie. Boots In The Park proved to be one of the most legendary country music events Albuquerque has ever seen, leaving New Mexicans eagerly anticipating next year’s festivities. Until then, we’ll be reminiscing about this unparalleled night that truly embodied the heart and soul of country music.
