Mark Pardo SalonSpa celebrated their 50th Anniversary in style unveiling Dare to Dream: A Beauty Exposé, a one of a kind event that showcased fashion across the ages all while raising money to support the local nonprofit the New Mexico Dream Center.

The beauty expose spotlighted the immense skill of team members across Albuquerque from Mark Pardo for the momentous occasion all while inviting the public to join them to stand with the New Mexico Dream Center as the community comes together to fight against human trafficking.
For fifty years, Mark Pardo SalonSpa has been on the cutting edge of trend and beauty in Albuquerque and through hard work, dreaming and innovation the locally founded New Mexico business has become one of the largest locally owned salon chains in New Mexico. The salon found it fitting to celebrate their anniversary by supporting a local non-profit as they stated on their website that they “have continually strived to improve; to do better; to dream.”
Being one of the leaders in the fashion industry in New Mexico the salon utilized all of its team members’ skills to help support the New Mexico Dream Center in style. The theme highlighting fashion throughout the ages was chosen by creative heads to highlight the changes in fashion throughout the years while putting the spotlight on human trafficking, an issue that has continued throughout the years side by side with each fashion trend. The love Mark Pardo Salonspa has for the community fueled and brought an electric energy to the entire event.
“The community has given us 50 years, so I always feel like it’s our responsibility to give back,” said Mark “Pardo” Gonzales, Owner, President of Mark Pardo Salonspa & Aveda Institute New Mexico.
In addition to putting on a show that the community would remember, the salon additionally featured multiple guest speakers that helped to tackle the bigger issue of sex trafficking in New Mexico and the ways members of the community could spot sex traffickers. By providing these key speakers the salon had hopes that they could spread awareness to prevent sex trafficking before it begins in many instances.
As the show closed with each and every model giving a bow the audience erupted in cheers as the crowd eagerly went to close out the money they helped raise through the silent auction. Art and creativity showcased on the stage allowed a stronger message to be echoed throughout the crowd.
“The art people do everyday, they get to show it on the stage, let their hair down and be creative,” Gonzales said. “The purpose of this show is to raise money and awareness and to help and support young people who have been sexually trafficked.”
