What’s in a Name?

The name “Fly High 420 Weekend” is a play on words and ties into their annual 420 frisbee giveaway, where attendees receive a commemorative frisbee at the event. Attendees can also indulge in their favorite Nug subs (4’ sandwiches) for just $4.20 all day long on April 19th (day of event) and April 20th.

 What’s New This Year?

This year, Cheba Hut decided to tie a theme to their block parties and transform each location into the specific theme. The themes are representative of the unique personalities of each shop location.

Three Shops, Three Vibes

Each Albuquerque Cheba Hut location is curating its own unique theme:

  • Harvard: Located in the heart of the University of New Mexico district, this shop decided on ‘Greek Fest’ to represent the college’s Greek Life culture and ties back to their connection to the University.
  • Cottonwood: The ‘Chebella Festival’ theme represents the vibrant nightlife and ultimate late night party vibe the Cottonwood location offers.
  • Uptown: ‘Gamesters Paradise’ represents the Cheba culture that loves gaming

What’s Happening on April 19?

From 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, all Albuquerque Cheba Hut locations will be buzzing with:

  • All locations will have the signature games they do annually, such as the Kool-Aid Chugging Contest and an Oregano Rolling Contest
  • All locations will have DJs playing all day
  • The Cottonwood location will have a silent disco alternating with the DJ, glowsticks, photobooths, and festival crafts such as bracelets.
  • The Harvard location will be showcasing their partnership with New Mexico United. New Mexico United team members will be on site all day and they will be announcing the winner of the sub naming contest they did in collaboration with Cheba Hut.
  • The Uptown location will host a foosball tournament and a late night outdoor projector gaming tournament.
  • All locations will be debuting their collaboration beer with Ex Novo called ‘Joint Venture’, a hazy IPA, and it will be available for purchase at the event.

What’s the $420 Cash Drop?

In a twist on the traditional New Year’s Eve ball drop, Cheba Hut will be dropping $420 in cash from their roof at 4:20 pm into the crowd. Attendees can participate by being present during the drop and trying their luck at catching some of the falling cash.

Raffle Prizes Galore

Raffles will be held throughout the day, offering attendees the chance to win a variety of prizes such as a gift certificate to receive a tattoo, tickets to a New Mexico United game, and swag from local dispensaries.

Do I Need to RSVP?

No tickets, no RSVP—just show up and vibe. Whether you’re a long-time Cheba Hut fan or a first-timer, everyone is welcome to join the festivities. All Cheba Hut events are always free of charge.
