The holiday spirit is in the air in New Mexico as the Land of Enchantment greeted the happiest season of the year with the return of Winter Wonderland!

The event featured a mile-long drive-thru holiday winter experience with multiple attractions, including an interactive light tunnel, live actors, Christmas trees, interactive sets, art installations, and vendors. Winter Wonderland returned for its second consecutive year and found it’s new home at EXPO New Mexico.

Winter Wonderland added several new features to the event but remembered to keep fan favorites from the previous year, including the return of the magical princesses from the Frozen Unfolded Sisters, which featured multiple familiar heroines from the Frozen Sisters to Snow White.

This year the professional princesses were joined by even more live actors and the addition of everyone’s favorite man of the hour, Santa Claus, who was available for photo opportunities for both individual and family photos.

Along with the actors and actresses, this year’s Winter Wonderland included the famous magical light tunnel, which lit perfect symmetry to the holiday music present throughout the drive. Many guests drove through the tunnel with their sunroof down as small children and teenagers alike reached for the lights flashing above. The tunnel guests saw the return of a new and improved luminaria section along with Santa’s Village who’s guests ranged from Mickey and Minnie, The Nightmare Before Christmas’s Jack and Sally, and the Gingerbread Man.

After driving through the attraction, guests were given a new option this year of embarking on the new walk-thru tour, which included a hot air balloon from Friday-Sunday and exclusive light decorations and displays for families to enjoy. In addition to the walk-thru tour, Winter Wonderland offered access to local small business vendors, hot cocoa, and even delicious tacos for dinner.

Every ticket purchased at the event contributed to both the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico, bringing holiday cheer to the community while helping families throughout Albuquerque and New Mexico.

Along with the newer attractions, multiple special guests joined Winter Wonderland to help bring a new holiday twist to the light show, including the Oscar Mayer WienerMobile and the Zia Ghostbusters!

With the New Year right around the corner, Winter Wonderland is looking to add new additions until the very end, offering a special NYE photo shoot with the Frozen Queen herself as well as offering exclusive photo shoots for couples and families.

With the magical light tunnel queued to light up the sky, Winter Wonderland is sure to greet 2022 with style!
